Job Description for Data Analyst (Analytics & BI) Trainee

Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst (Analytics & BI) Trainee to work on analytical dashboards, SQL-based insights, ETL pipelines, and data preparation for business intelligence. During the 3-month training program, you will gain hands-on experience with data modeling, visualization, metrics building, and backend data workflows. After successful completion, trainees will be offered a full-time Data Analyst / BI role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Build interactive dashboards and analytical visualizations for business reporting
• Write optimized SQL queries for data analysis, aggregations, and insights
• Design and maintain ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing
• Work closely with Database Developers, Backend Engineers, and Product Teams
• Create KPIs, metrics, and data models for BI reporting
• Perform data validation, cleaning, and transformation
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytics data
• Document data flows, report logic, and ETL processes
• Support reporting needs for decision-making and process optimization

Required Skills

• Core Technical Skills:
• Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions)
• ETL pipelines & data transformation concepts
• Data modeling (star schema, dimensional modeling, relationships)
• BI visualization tools (any: Power BI, Data Studio, Tableau, Metabase, etc.)
• Understanding of analytics workflows and reporting structures

Soft Skills:

• Analytical thinking
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear communication
• Ability to collaborate across teams
• Problem-solving mindset

Preferred Skills:

• Python for data processing (optional)
• Experience with Excel/Sheets for data validation
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS/GCP)
• Basic understanding of API-based data extraction
